Version 0.1.1: Bunnies and Cleanup

We interrupt your weekly scheduled devlog for a short announcement.

Star Knightess Aura, game by a good developer and friend of mine, is releasing on Steam today. If you happen to buy it, be sure to leave a review. Early reviews (and sales) help tremendously with the Steam algorithm and get a snowball effect going.

You might have already seen it on the Patreon cross-promo several months ago,  It's a very in-depth corruption based ero-RPG. I really enjoy the game (I have more than 50 hours in it) and want to spread the word.

Bunnies

The next race are bunnies. These are known for their powerful kicks and cute hops. Their unique roles are the assassin (very similar to the Ero Dungeons rogue) and the (cursed) waitress. The waitress is a healer/buffer who interacts with new alcohol tokens.

Surprisingly, the largest amount of time this week wasn't spend on the bunnies directly. Instead it was on making races fully moddable, and to make it easier to edit their roles.

Also, the Serving Tray is actually a shield, having a different sprite and animation when not used by a waitress. The new animation system allows for cool stuff like that.

Dungeon Improvements

The "wooden palisade with flag" was a placeholder for all overworld dungeon textures. This week it has been replaced with local variants for all terrain types. Additionally, I finally added support for unique dungeons for each terrain type, and used as much textures/implementations from Ero Dungeons as I could. The dungeons should feel very different now, but only if you haven't played Ero Dungeons. It will be a while until I fully create new dungeon layouts, so this will work fine in the meantime.

Role Finalizations

All levels for all roles now give a bonus. Of particular importance is the production speed one, giving you a reason to level up your monstergirls before chucking them into a building.

Note that I didn't yet have the time to update all moves to incorporate the new lack of up/downcasting. But this will be done soon, including splitting up moves like Group Heal/Single Heal and Arcane Shield/Arcane Armor.

Permanent Moves:

Additionally, at level 28, each role gets a permanent move. This tier 2 move stays when swapping roles, allowing for some extra build diversity. This wasn't possible earlier as there wasn't any place in the UI for more than 7 moves, but that's no longer a blocker.

Changelog:

Major:

  • Bunnies and the Waitress/Assassin roles, see above.
  • More dungeon flavor and textures, see above.
  • Completion and streamlining of all current roles, see above.

Minor:

  • You can now set production targets for your Workshops/Manufactories.
  • Improved UX of info panels.
  • Clothes added in combat now get unequipped at combat end
  • Some moves have been streamlined at higher tiers (giving more tokens at the start to speed up combat a bit)
  • DoTs and other on turn effects no longer trigger when releasing a charged move
  • Mark now gives a crit received malus at higher tiers
  • Enemies in cursed roles (Mules/Slaves/Waitresses) can no longer be captured easily since stealing is wrong
  • Support for race mods.
  • Support for animated equipment.

Bugfixes:

  • In combat removed clothes lost their coloring
  • Cleric was missing its fifth move
  • Tutorial "unlock all boons" was broken.
  • Some parts related to dungeons were broken.
  • Mule/Slave roles now have scaling health.
  • Fixed texture issues with thigh high socks and panties.
  • Hit rate still existed under the hood, despite the UI telling you stats only existed for damage scaling.
  • When you moved on the overworld map, the favor tree would also move.
  • Saveloading would break breeding Attach and Capture panels would only show the results for the first possible target.
  • Setting the hair didn't always work when starting a new game
  • Tokens that lasted a Dungeon only lasted a combat
  • Typos

Very nice bunnies!  Will the succubus race be updated?  This is surely a project that fits the theme of the game

A succubus race is planned.
